Conference championships and more

Just watched the replay of the Sugar Bowl last night. I spotted my wife and daughter in the stands with 7:28 to go in the second quarter, (by that time I believe $64 worth of beer had been consumed in the Superdome). The game was much better from the first row in the corner of the end zone than on Fox television, I might add, and Hawaii's offense was by far the worst we had played the entire year. My theory on the run-and-shoot offense is that it works best when run by a team who has the best quarterback, receivers, offensive linemen, and running backs in their entire league when playing against a shitty opponent.

Now for my underdawgma pick for this weekend's conference championships...



Surprise! There is not an underdawgma selection for this week. As much as I would like to pick the Giants because of their road dominance, Brett Favre is better than Eli Manning. Also, when going back to 1970, most of these games are decided by 14 points or more. Go figure.

Greetings all! Finally made it back from New Orleans last Thursday, and have not had the desire to blog until now. The only comment that I will make from the game is that Hawaii was the worst offense that UGA played all year. The best chance they had to score against our starting defense was best captured in the photo I took at the Warrior team hotel before the game, (that's Miss Hawaii standing between two drunken dawg fans).

Nonetheless, it's time to switch gears to Pro Football and discuss my selection for the upset special of the conference semi-final games. We have four games this weekend in which all dawgs are receiving more than a touchdown. Be careful, however, as all bets are off when it comes to the playoffs. There may be a blowout or 2, but I am sensing a major upset brewing. New England? Good guess, but I don't think the Jags will quite pull it out. My gut tells me to go with the least tempting underdawg on the board. Look no further than the...

SAN DIEGO SUPERCHARGERS!!!

I have not heard one single pundit giving them a shot at winning this game. Therefore, lock'm down! The chargers are the pick to win outright, as the Colts are caught looking too far ahead.

Underdawgma early bowl release

Congrats to all the Underdawgma faithful who sided with the Falcons, yesterday. Today I would like to give you an early bowl treat:

I can't imagine that BC is very fired up about travelling to the Sunshine State again after all 27 of their fans made the trip to the ACC championship back in November. Also, early bowl results indicate that the favorites, (and general public) are bombing thus far, (dawgs are 4-2 vs the number).

Not only are the Spartans getting more than a field goal, the public is betting on BC, as the line has moved a point.
